Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat certain brain tumors and other neurological conditions. Through a small incision, a thin laser probe is precisely guided to the targeted area using advanced imaging. Controlled laser energy heats and destroys abnormal tissue while minimizing the impact on surrounding healthy brain tissue.

LITT may be considered for select primary or metastatic brain tumors, recurrent tumors, radiation-related tissue damage, and some forms of epilepsy. Compared with traditional open surgery, it may offer a shorter hospital stay, smaller incision, and faster recovery for appropriate patients.
